CommentsOriginally in Lyndhurst village. Given by public subscription per Mrs Sykes. The MDFCTA records describe the inscription as "A merciful man is merciful to his beast. Erected and endoweds by lovers of animals 1901". However, the year on the trough is definitely 1902. This trough is in full working order and is much appreciated by the ponies that roam the New Forest.
