Comments In 1972 a trough was moved from the London Borough of Merton, Wimbledon, to the London Museum. See Historic Wimbledon, Richard Milward, Windrush Press 1989 Page-181 (section on Horse Troughs): "A trough, originally erected in 1886, at the top of Cottenham Park Road near Christ Church [1089], is now in the Museum of London". However, trough [1089] was the gift of Mr Thomas Devas. Another Wimbldeon trough, gifted by Mr. Thomas Devas that was moved to Wimbledon Common contains the inscription "DEVAS". This trough at London Wall does not contain a "DEVAS" inscription which might indicate that it's not the Devas trough from Cottenham Park Road, Wimbledon???
